DOUROCAVES was established in 1992 and has its headquarters in Loureiro county of Peso da Régua, in the heart of the Douro Demarcated Region. In an initial phase, its activity was mainly focused on the production of Generous Wine, having as main customers some of the most prestigious Port wine exporting companies namely Gran Cruz, Symington, Taylor's, Porto Poças, Wiese & Krohn and Soc. Borges.  Recently, in parallel with the Generation Wine production and marketing line, it has also been active in the area of ​​bulk and bottled consumer wines.

Dourocaves has been recognized and has received several awards in some of the most specialized national and worldwide contests, namely the WMC, at Estoril, the IWC (International Wine Challenge), and the CMB (Worldwide contest of Brussels), as well as several references and recommendations in magazines of the specialty.

GRAND RESERVE RED 2007

DOC Douro

  • GRAPE VARIETIES: Touring Nacional, Touring Franca and Tinto Cao.

  • TASTING NOTES: Wine with intense ruby color.  Full of aromatic complexity where oust ands an aroma of ripe fruit, spices and balsamic.   In the mouth it is full bodied, with great structure and persistence.

  • SERVING SUGGESTIONS: The structure and complexity of this wine recommends it as an accompaniment to succulent dishes, soft cheeses and smoked.  

  • VINIFICATION: Selection of the best grapes fermented in stainlesss steel bowl with controlled temperature and pumping cycles in order to bring out fine aromas and phenolic compounds.  After fermentation, it has beed aged 12 months in French oak barrels.

  • SERVICE: 18-20ºC

  • TOTAL ACIDITY: 6.2 g/dm3

  • SUGAR: 3.1 m/dm3​

  • pH: 3.58

RESERVE RED 2007

DOC Douro

  • GRAPE VARIETIES: Touria Franca, Tinta Roriz and Touriga Nacional

  • TASTING NOTES: This wine has an elegant aroma composed by notes of red berries and wood where it has been aged.  In the mouth the wine shows soft tannins, good structure and elegance.

  • SERVING SUGGESTIONS: Recommended to accompany meat dishes, cheeses and smoked.  

  • VINIFICATION: This elegant wine has been aged in new barrels of Grench and American oak for 6 months.

  • ALCOHOL: 13.5%

  • SERVICE: 16-18ºC

  • TOTAL ACIDITY: 5.27 g/dm3

  • SUGAR: 2.8 g/dm3

  • pH: 3.66

 
 

Red Wine 2010

DOC Douro

  • GRAPE VARIETIES: Touria Franca, Tinta Roriz and Tinta Barroca

  • TASTING NOTES: Wine with beautiful ruby color, fruity aromas with emphasis on different flowers and red fruits.  Very soft and full mouth.

  • SERVING SUGGESTIONS: Recommended to accompany meat dishes, smoked meats and cheeses. 

  • VINIFICATION: Strict control of temperature and maceration in order to obtain a smooth and fruity wine.

  • ALCOHOL: 13%

  • SERVICE: 14-16ºC

  • TOTAL ACIDITY: 5.17 g/dm3

  • SUGAR: 6 g/dm3

  • pH: 3.68

 

White Wine 2013

DOC Douro

  • GRAPE VARIETIES: Viosinho, Malvasia Fina, Gouveio and Moscatel Galego Branco.

  • TASTING NOTES: This wine is characterized by its aromatic intensity, smooth and nice acidity.

  • SERVING SUGGESTIONS: Suitable as an aperitif or seafood and fish dishes.  

  • VINIFICATION: Fermented at low temperatures in stainless steel containers to ensure fruit preservation.  It is recommended to be served cool.

  • ALCOHOL: 13%

  • SERVICE: 6ºC

  • TOTAL ACIDITY: 5.66 g/dm3

  • SUGAR: 6.1 g/dm3

  • pH: 3.4
