Our Story

Local Family Farm

Nestled at the foothills of Serra da Marofa, amid the valleys of the Côa and Águeda rivers, lies Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo, a village steeped in winemaking tradition. With roots dating back to the 12th century, when Cistercian monks first cultivated vineyards at the Convent of Santa Maria de Aguiar, our heritage continues to flourish. Today, we stand as a testament to this legacy, proudly preserving centuries-old knowledge.

Our wines reflect the unique terroir characterized by a Continental/Mediterranean climate and shale-dominated soils. With predominant grape varieties including Syria, Malvasia Fina for whites, and Marufo, Rufete, Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz for reds, our commitment to excellence has garnered numerous national and international awards, attesting to the enduring quality of our wines.
